Avicularia versicolor
Taxonomist: (Walckenaer)Year: 1837
Size: 60mm
Humidity: 70-80%
Temperature: 25-28°C
Environment: arboreal
Synonyms:
Aranea hirtipes, Fabricius 1775
Description:
One of most beautifull spiders at all. Slings are blue with dark carapace and black paining on abdomen. Similar slings has only Avicularia hirsuta. Adults are blue-black, with shiny red hairs on legs and abdomen.
This hairy beauty is not as common, because it has fewer eggs in egg-sack. As all spiders from this genus likes high cage with twigs, plants etc. It's not good idea to have more spiders in one cage -> these experiments results in one big spider. When mating, there is big chance, that the male will be eaten.
